The Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum put the 1980, Griffon Bud restoration into the water for the first time last Thursday, on Lake Washington, Seattle, WA. They also ran their restored Atlas Van Lines, piloted by it's original driver, Chip Hanuer. Both boats ran well; firing up and driving away from the dock on the first attempt. Both boats also spent time at the end of the tow line. The Bud, driven by H.A.R.M. Director, David Williams, made it to the water twice, turning fast laps both times. Second ride ended when fun exceeded fuel. Chip made it onto the course once... just like riding a bicycle... He left the dock for a second trip, but the engine went dead before a complete lap.
