The Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum took
to the water again last Tuesday, 6/24,
here in Seattle for a test session in preparation for their upcoming
appearance in Detroit.
Three boats participated:
1980, U-1 Miss Budweiser. The Griffon boat, driven by museum
director, David Williams.
Oh Boy Oberto, driven first by Peter Orton, then by Gale Whitestine.
I believe this is the same hull that starred in the movie 'Madison'
as Miss Madison.
1960 U-4 Miss Burien, driven by George Greer; this hull also
raced as Tempest and Savair's Probe.
As usual, Ron Jones, Sr. was in attendance to watch his former handiwork's
reincarnation.
