1948 - 1952 Morlan Veisel from California - 1st unlimited moving up from 5 liter 1953 - LTYC Championship finished 3rd 1953 - Maples Mile High finished 2nd with Visel as riding mechanic 1954 - Mile High Race finished 2nd 1954 - used in the movie "The Magnificent Obsession" with Rock Hudson & Jane Wyman. It was thought that Bill Stead drove for the movie but it was "Wild" Bill Cantrell as stunt driver. 1954 November - Salton Sea, California with Allison power "Avia Union" built by Howard Gidovlenko, Bill Stead set a two-way average speed record of 163.136 MPH 1985 was donated to the Hydroplane &
