motor | 6 cyl modified Ford (possibly 1941 - 47, 226 "G" series?) This is the original engine so is likely a 1941 era as the boat was built in 45. There are no markings on the block that we have found so far. Aluminum flat head is fitted with 3 Stromberg 97 carbs. Ignition uses a distributor from a V12 engine (Lincoln?) which has two coils, each one fires 3 cylinders. Pan was reworked to include oil cooling in bottom, engine was blueprinted and balanced. More info to come as we get in to it further. Any help appreciated! |

years raced / history | 1945 - ? The second owner was Dave Norton. He bought the boat in 1950 - it was his first raceboat. When he got better than the boat he parked it and moved on to newer designs - this boat was never modified from original configuration. He won his first race in this boat - we have pictures. |
