Hull was formerly owned by Dave Yeager as JS 97, prior to that owned and competed on the APBA national circuit and was a national event winner as Southern Comfort JS-76, owned and driven by Mike Doud. Doud raced the boat successfully with the outboard rudder which is still used on the boat today as a pleasure craft. After retiring from competition, the boat participated in Vintage events with side exhausts. Due to a rule change on side exhausts the boat has been prohibited from future in water APBA Vintage participation. There are no plans to return to transom exit exhausts. |
