The current motor is one of the last motors camapigned in the boat through 1974. This engine was originally built by David Irwin of Florida and ran on methanol with Hilborn injection. It was rebuilt by R & L Engines of Dover, NH. We have kept the engine as original except that it now runs with 112 octane racing fuel. The boat ran a number of 265 Chevy engines until the 302 was installed in 1970. |

David Irwin 1971-1974 with various drivers includind Milner Irvin & Sherm Polhamus. 1969- Region 5 Champion Goldcoast Marathon July 1966 Miami to West Palm and back, 124 miles at an average speed of 81.09 mph. Also won the northbound leg of the same race in 1964. |
