MAN O' WAR
Champion 135 Class Hydroplane
The only history I was told was that it was built in the late 1940's
in Elgin, Illinois.
Looks to be from Champion plans that were available back then.
Hydro is 14' in length.
Ford Flathead V8-60 with Eddie Meyers heads & intake manifold.
Twin Stromberg 81 carbs with Scott tops, Harrom & Collins magneto
and 180 degree crank.
Arrived at its new home in New Hampshire.
I have started to restore the Champion boat. I have found that the
flooring is in great shape after a little cleaning.
I have removed the engine, seat and instrument panel.
The resourcefulness of the original builders.
If you have any idea on history of this hydroplane, please contact
me.
It have restored the hull and engine and require only the prop shaft,
engine instruments and starter to be installed.
My engine was rebuilt by Richard Willim and is featured on the cover
of his great book.
