Flyin High Race team campaigned the boat for a more than 2 seasons during which they set a new competition record, establishing JS-78 as the boat to beat. They won the majority of their races. 1982 - APBA 1-2/3 MILE Competition Record holder. 68.632 mph. Feb 7, 1982 @ St. Petersburg, FL. Driven by Dave Paraskevas. Rider Roger Harris. 1983 - JS-78 Design Developers Special - John Bryan St. Petersburg, FL 1988 - JS-78 - Don Abel used as a river skiff for 10 years. Don replaced original 283 with a 350. 1998 - Gracie - Dan Dobbins, Rochester, NY. Raced in APBA V&H events and ACBS events. 2004 - JS-78 Flyin' High - Bill DeGlopper, Grand Island, NY - restored & registered in APBA V&H; has ran in APBA & ACBS events: Detroit Gold Cup; Antique Race Boat Regatta - Clayton, NY; Buffalo Launch Club Race Boat Reunion; Lake George Race Boat Regatta; Wolfeboro New Hampshire Race Boat Regatta. 2007 - class correct 283 reinstalled |
