Miss Peg F-90 Jack Hines found the infamous hydro in the deep south many years ago parked in the 'back 40' and had to cut a path through a swamp to get the Ron Jones, Sr. built 266 hydro out. After a painstaking rebuild of the entire boat in Dayton, Ohio, Jack traveled to Lake Palourde in Morgan City, Louisiana where the Miss Peg ran many races during its career under all its different names - Gun Shy, Tin Horn, Miss Peg, Delta Lady. A fitting tribute to have the boat's first run at its most raced venue. Those involved with the boat by incarnation were present - Gun Shy: Ennie Argence, Richard Landaiche (nephew to Ennie), Roy Wilson Jr. (Sr. drove after Ennie hurt). Tin Horn: Jerry Bilbe (son of Harry, owner), Clayton Boudreaux driver. Miss Peg: Pat Buntin Miley (Bill Buntin's wife), Sean Buntin (son), Damon King (daughter), Joey Nolan (Joe Nolan Sr. father crew), Denver Ray Mut (Melvin Mut father crew), Kip Fabre' (son of engine builder Cliff), Jean Talliac (driver after Bill), Larry Farris (son of owner Lawrence). EIGHT BALL H-8 Jim Townsend and his twin-engine, home made hydro in Miami, Florida 1961 Jim had a long and successful racing career and built his own hydro and powered it with many different engines, including both convential and cabover configurations. Coors Light Special A-32 | Owners - Bill Whitehouse & Chuck Bertke | Driver - Bill Whitehouse. Both Cincinnati based hydros maintained by the late Steve Wissman. BMW power by Dragon Racing Engines. 
Both hydros are alive & well and hanging from ceilings. A-30 painted back as it famous past, Mr.Bud on display in Jon Staudacher's rec room in Michigan and A-32 hanging in Quaker Steak & Lube Restaurant in Cincinnati. |
