Paul Sawyers Alter Ego unlimited
class hydroplane. Built by Les Staudacher, designed by Paul
Sawyer, with help by Ted Jones. Power is General Motors Allison V-12. In
1956, Staudacher began construction of this hydro. It was never completed
for him and he retired from racing. It wasn’t put into the water for eighteen
years.
The boat finally hit the water when Bob
Schroeder, briefly raced it in 1974 as the CU-22 and in 1982 as the
Miss
Canada. It was this craft that became the original Miss Tosti Asti
in 1983. |
